Nurse Practitioners

Natasha Wasum (f)

Natasha joined Fairlands Practice in June 2014 as a Nurse Prescriber. Having trained in the UK she has over 20 years nursing experience in a wide variety of clinical settings both in the UK and overseas in Singapore and China.

Most recently Natasha spent 9 years working as a Nurse Practitioner/ Nurse Prescriber in the busy Weybridge Walk-In-Centre, diagnosing and treating minor illnesses and injuries.

Natasha's role is to offer patients easier access to same day care through a healthcare professional who , working alongside a GP, can assess and treat a range of minor illnesses and injuries across a wide age range.

Carol Corning (f)


Carol trained as a nurse in London and worked in general surgery and intensive care before undertaking further training as a midwife and then a few years later as a health visitor.

After a 10 year career break looking after small children she returned to nursing and Fairlands Medical Centre. She has now been working at Fairlands for 12 years. During that time she has undergone training in many specialities as well as gaining a huge amount of experience in all aspects of practice nursing. Her special interests are Asthma and COPD, Diabetes, warfarin monitoring and Contraception and Women's Health.

She  very much enjoys working at this surgery and feels very fortunate to be part of the wider Fairlands community.

Debbie Garland (f)


After qualifying from St Bartholomews Hospital in 1984 Debbie gained experience in A+E in several London teaching hospitals and abroad and then moved into practice Nursing in 2000.

Her main interests are Diabetes Care, Child Immunisation, Travel Health, Anticoagulation,Women's Health and Contraception, Tissue Viability and Wound Care, and also does Cryotherapy.

Jane Graham


Jane joined the Nursing Team in 2014 having obtained her Adult Nursing degree in 2012 after studying in West London.

She undertakes treatment room procedures together with travel consultations & finds her role both challenging and immensley rewarding.

Rebecca Phoenix (f)

Rebecca Phoenix

Is a part time Practice Nurse here at Fairlands having joined our Nurse Team in December 2015. She trained at St Bartholomew's/City University and after qualifying in 1998 worked at St Bartholomew's Hospital within Women's Health before moving to Surrey and taking a post at Mount Alvernia where she worked for 12 years.

Her main interests are Women's Health, Tissue Viability, Wound Care and Leg Ulcer Management.

She is very excited about her new practice nurse role.





Our practice nursing staff care for our patients at both of the surgeries. We have a comprehensive practice nursing service to support the further development of nursing facilities and chronic disease management at the practice.

The nurses can be seen by appointment for all basic practice nursing services and offer the following special clinics and services: 

  • Asthma/COPD clinics 
  • Diabetic clinic
  • Hypertension clinics 
  • Well woman/man checks
  • Family planning services
  • Weight management services 
  • Smoking cessation advice
  • Blood pressure monitoring checks 

Healthcare Assistants

Ruth Young (f)

Ruth trained as a phlebotomist in 2003 at the Royal Surrey County Hospital and joined Fairlands in 2005. Since joining the team Ruth has extended her role to that of a healthcare assistant able to perform a range of health care procedures. She has achieved her NVQ 3 in Health Care.

Sarah is one of our phlebotomists and also assists in Reception.
