General Information and how to register for Patient Access

Online Services - General Information

Please note that you can now access our range of online services by clicking ono the appropriate box at the foot of our home page or by clicking on the Patient UK icon below.

1. Registering for an online service
* Please note that you will be unable to use our online services until your registration as a patiernt of the practice is fully completed and you have attended for a new patient check with a member of our nursing team.
In order to be able to use this service you must first register with the practice to obtain the necessary details to log on to the system. Please click on the 'Patient UK' icon above or ask at reception.
You will be given a form with details of the practice ID and your own personal login ID. This is personal to you only and must be kept safely confidential. To log on to the system you will be taken to the EMIS Access Website where you will need to enter these details. To go there now please click on the Patient UK icon above.

2. Appointment Booking

Please note that a maximum of 2 appointments can be held at any one time. If you already have an appointment with someone at the practice, this will reduce your allocation and ability to book more. Unfortunately this is something outside of the practice's control and an integral part of the software we use for this service

Please note that the list of appointments will show availability at NORMANDY and FAIRLANDS. Please make a note of the location at which you book your appointment as failure to arrive on time at the correct surgery may result in your appointment being cancelled.

If you wish to cancel an appointment you can do so online or by phone to 01483 594250 / 813274.

A selection of appointments should be displayed on line and we will be monitoring the balance of conventional and internet appointments that we offer in order to make this work smoothly.
Please observe the following important points in order to help us to achieve this.
All appointments are at 10 minutes intervals and we ask that only one problem is discussed per appointment. If you require an extended appointment please speak to a receptionist.

Please do not try to book the following types of appointment on line

Contraceptive Implants or coil fits

Post Natal examinations

Child Health Examinations

Minor surgical or cryotherapy procedures

Chronic disease management clinics for diabetes, hypertension, asthma and COPD

Appointments that might need extended counselling or where you have more than one problem to discuss

3. Repeat Prescriptions

You will be able to place requests for repeat prescriptions for any medications that are currently active in your repeat medication record. You will be able to see only those medications that your doctor has authorised for regular repeats.

Patients do receive a notice on their repeat prescription counterfoil whenever a consultation is required to review this. Your doctor will have entered a period of time after which this should happen and repeats will not be available after this has expired.

Please allow at least 48 hours at Fairlands and 72 hours at Normandy before collecting your prescriptions. If the staff do not know you well you may be asked to give some form of identity.

Please note that under NHS England regulations we are only able to dispense medication from our Normandy surgery for those patients who live more than 1.6km from a pharmacy. We know that this is disappointing for patients who see a GP at Normandy, have a prescription for medication but find they do not meet the residency criteria. We regret however our dispensing staff are unable to make any exceptions to the rule and are working within the strict guidelines paid down.
